On July 17, 1975, twin gynecologists Cyril and Stewart Marcus were found dead in their upscale Manhattan apartment, surrounded by decaying chicken parts, rotten fruit, and empty pill bottles.
The rise and precipitous fall of the doctors was the inspiration for David Cronenberg’s 1988 film, Dead Ringers, starring Jeremy Irons as both of the identical twins. This is based on a true crime.
Based on a True Crime is a podcast where Chelsea’s love of true crime and David’s love of horror movies intersect. Each week we will be discussing murders and/or mysteries, along with the pop culture they have spawned.
